Board Member

Margot Fisch Benstock was born and raised in Copenhagen Denmark by Orthodox parents. Her father was the sole survivor in his family of the Holocaust. She came to Pinellas County Florida by way of Israel where she met her husband, Michael, and after marrying him in Israel in 1978 moved to the United States.

Her involvement in Pinellas County Jewish community began as The Pre-School Parent Chair at her Synagogue, Congregation B’nai Israel of St. Petersburg. As Margot’s three children grew older her involvement continued as Parent Boosters Association President of the Pinellas County Jewish Day School.

She has served as The Women’s co-chair of The Jewish Federation of Pinellas County, Covenant Fund Chair, Founder and Chair of the Teen Council, and as Women’s President of the Jewish Federation of Pinellas County.

From 2000 she served two years as The General Campaign Chair of the Jewish Federation of Pinellas County and then for two years as the President. She received the Ludin Young Leadership award in 1998. She served four years on the Young Leadership cabinet, and has been the S.E. young leadership regional Conference Ritual Chair. For six years Margot has been on the National Women’s Philanthropy (NWP) Board where she has held several positions, including Southeast region endowment institute chair and NWP missions co-chair to France and Israel. Presently she is on the Women’s Philanthropy advisory board and chair of the ONAD committee in her community.

Margot is also an active volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association and in 2009 received an award for her outstanding service.

She served as a Committee Member from June 2009. Since June 2011 she is a Board member.
