Main Highlights

During the period of January-May 2007 there were a total of 6,101 olim, 345 of whom were Returning Israelis. This figure is 12% less than in the same period last year.

FSU and Eastern Europe – 2,170 olim arrived in Israel from the FSU. This figure constitutes 36% of the total aliyah to Israel and is 25% less than the same period last year. Russia proved to be the main source of FSU aliyah with 1,000 olim - representing a decrease of 25% compared to January-May of last year. There were 527 olim from Ukraine during this period.
69 olim arrived from Eastern Europe in comparison to 83 olim during the same period last year.
