Chani Degahon
“My father literally put his life on the line to come to Israel. Our family went through harrowing experiences before we reached our homeland. I am so thankful to be living in Israel, and I am determined to be a successful businessperson and help the Ethiopian community move forward.”

Chani Degahon (26) was born in the mountainous Gondar region of Ethiopia, one of nine children. Her father worked for the Jewish Agency for Israel teaching Hebrew, but was imprisoned in the early 80’s when this was outlawed. “For over six months no one knew where my father was,” Chani explains.
