ARAD'S CHILDREN SING

Those who attended the children's choir concert at the Community Center were in for a special experience. The "Children Sing" project was born with the creation of school choirs last year supported and encouraged by the New Jersey-Delaware Jewish Federations Consortium through the Jewish Agency's Partnership 2000. In the words of the Israeli poet and Nobel Prize winner Shai Agnon, "There is a deed that makes a song and there is a song that makes a deed". The project was based on the concept that the artistic experience in choir singing will have positive implications on educating children to the love of beauty, sensitivity and creativity. Choir conductors Ella Chomotovsky, Patricia Raber and Nina Muniz successfully revealed the hidden voices of these young talented artists. Juggling with their young voices, the choirs from the Tlalim, Ofarim, Yeelim, Levaot and Avishour schools, cut the cold air and warmed hearts. Their songs are a road mark and a hopeful look into a future of vital educational endeavors in the schools and in the City of Arad.
