A Business forum was established to promote commerce in Arad.

The opening ceremony and signing of the service declaration took place on November 09, 2006 in Arad.

The impressive event took place at the offices of the Economic Development Unit in Arad. The ceremony was officiated by the Mayor of Arad, Dr. Moty Brill, the Deputy Mayor and the Chairman of the Arad Company, Mr. Dudi Ohanuna, prestigious members of the Arad Municipality, the Director of the Economic Development Unit of Arad, Ms. Lilli Shefi, and the Board of Directors of the Arad Businessmen’s Forum.

In addition, many business owners of Arad attended the opening ceremony. During the ceremony, business plans of the forum were presented, including details of a survey conducted recently in Arad of needs and buying patterns, development of the “Focus Group Supporting Commerce (an active board) and finally details of a future sale planned for the upcoming holiday season.

The Business Forum was established in order to raise the awareness of the community and encourage commerce in Arad- buying products only in Arad, forming a solid bond between the community and its merchants/service providers. In essence, create a more positive attitude towards the businesses in Arad. As such, the Forum will be comprised of representatives of businesses in Arad and members of the Economic Development Unit of Arad-Tamar. For this purpose, funds were allocated to the project and a financial advisor was hired through the project “Spark” of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Israel.
