Yivgeny Dvoskin, aged 17, a new immigrant from FSU and living in Karmiel, came first at the recent Israeli Wrestling Championship - Greek Roman Style up to 63 kg.

Dvoskin trains at the Karmiel Sports Excellence School, one of the Projects supported by "Partnership 2000 Karmiel - Misgav Baltimore - Pittsburgh". This Project aims to help develop and cultivate local young sports people, both veteran and new immigrants and help absorb the new immigrants in the veteran Israeli society.

Also of note, most of the trainers and staff of the school, are themselves new immigrants.
