Students from Karmiel and Misgav marked the end of the school year with the "Partnership 2000"/Jewish Agency’s program, "An educational bridge". They went on two interesting and successful field trips to "Beit Hatfutzot" in Tel-Aviv and to the "Settlement Starting-Point" Museum in Kibbutz Yifat.
Students from the "Megadim" School in Karmiel, the "Misgav elemntery school" and "Golden Education Template" schools , who worked together on the "Shutafim" program, a program for broadening familiarity with students their age from the partner communities. The students went together on a field trip to "Beit Hatfutzot" on June 1st.
In the museum, through the exhibits, the students followed the life of the Jewish person as an individual, as a family and as part of a community. They learned about points in our history as a nation from the destruction of the 2nd house and through the building of the State of Israel.
During their tour, the students got familiar with different types of ancient synagogues in the world, like in Venice, India and in Ashkenazic and Sephardic communities, and they found symbols common to them all that still appear in their communities today.
As part of the activity, the participants received information on the origin of their families.
The end of the "Circles of Identity" activities was marked by a field trip and a visit to the "Settlement Starting Point" Museum in Kibbutz Yifat on June 9th.
Students from the "Alon", "Haprachim", "Moria" and "Rekefet" schools in Karmiel took part in this day.
The students built a tent, just like the first pioneers, from cloth straps, sticks and stones. They also built a brick wall together.
After this activity, the students entered the museum and saw how the pioneers lived, what they did for a living and what they believed in.
The building together of the brick wall lead to a meaningful discussion on the great contribution the pioneers made to our country and our responsibility for the continuity of it.
The day ended with the distribution of "Circles of Identity" T-Shirts donated by the "Beth El" community in Baltimore.
