Last week, Igal Meshulam, a student from ORT Braude College, came back from a six-month internship period in Pittsburgh.
Igal was able to participate in this program thanks to the cooperation between ORT Braude College, "Partnership 2000"/Jewish Agenc and the Pittsburgh Jewish community.
Igal left for Pittsburgh in the middle of Sept. 2002 and started working in “Eldervision” (now known as “TouchTown”), a Start-Up company.
During the six-month period many changes occured in the company, due to the financial situation, yet Igal can take credit for many program developments the company made.
Although work was not easy, Igal got a great deal of personal and professional satisfaction from it.
During his stay in Pittsburgh, Igal was invited each Erev Shabat to dinner with a different Jewish family from the community, who were all very interested in what's going on in Israel.
Igal's stay in Pittsburgh was very meaningful for the community who wishes to express its support in Israel during these hard times.
Upon his return, Igal said that the time he spent in the USA only strengthened his love and connection to the state of Israel.
Next September, ORT Braude College and "Partnership 2000" intend on sending another trainee to the communities. The selection procedure and preparation will begin soon.
