A delegation of 6 YAD activists visited the partner communities Baltimore & Pittsburgh. The group was sent to the communities by the Jewish Agency's "Partnership 2000" program.

They started their visit in Baltimore, where they visited Jewish schools and told the students about the situation in Israel now, during the war with Iraq. Also, the delegation visited to the Jewish social services and other establishments and met Jewish community leaders.

Following their visit to Baltimore, the delegation arrived at the UJC Leadership Conference that took place in Pittsburgh. About 800 young Jewish people were present in the conference and it included discussions on leadership, Israel, Jewish Americans, relations between Judaism and Islam and more.

The Israeli delegation received a great deal of attention with all of the conference attendees. Also, they were interviewed for the local newspaper and television.

The delegation devoted its last two days in the USA to a visit with the Pittsburgh Jewish community. They visited the Jewish establishments, volunteered in a kosher kitchen that gives out food to the needy and more.
