Teen Leadership 2005 In Full Swing

Twelve Pittsburghers and 13 Israelis from Karmiel and Misgav are currently participating in a 5-week Teen Leadership program.  The goal of the program is to provide Jewish, American and Israeli teens, who have demonstrated leadership qualities, with a fun, yet intensive leadership experience in Israeli/Diaspora relations through living together and learning about each other's lives.

The group is spending the first part of their time together in Israel  exploring the country through touring, hiking, biking, rapelling, floating in the Dead Sea and climbing Masada.  The final two-weeks will be spent in Karmiel and Misgav, where the Israeli teens will provide home hospitality to their Pittsburgh counterparts.

The group will then travel together back to Pittsburgh, where the Israeli teens will be hosted in the homes of the Pittsburghers.  While in Pittsburgh the teens will travel to Washington D.C., volunteer at the JCC Day Camps, and visit many Pittsburgh fun spots, including the Carnegie Science Center and Kennywood.
