JERUSALEM -- When United Jewish Federation Israel Emergency Campaign Co-Chair Edgar Snyder arrived at City Hall in Pittsburgh’s Partnership 2000 sister city Karmiel last Tuesday, he was shown a map of the city full of red stars.
Each star marked another site where a Katyusha rocket fell among 400 that struck the city during this summer’s 34-day Hezbollah war on Northern Israel. Many of the rockets caused physical damage, nearly all of which has already been repaired, but all of them caused emotional damage that could have a permanent effect on the city’s residents
