"Partnership 2000", the City of Karmiel and the Misgav Regional Council have joined in the development, branding and marketing of a hiking path for bicycle riders and pedestrian hikers. This path unites the two neighboring municipalities in direct, yet informal manner for the pleasure of the region's residents and visitors.
The path begins in Karmiel as it surrounds the city along its western and southern boundaries. Here it heads down through the Hilazon riverbed and twists westward, cutting across the road that links Karmiel and Misgav (Rt. 784) and leads through ancient olive groves belonging to the Bedouin village of Sha'ab where it passes into the Segev Forest and "Hirbat Rosh Zit" ruins. From here, the path returns to Atzmon and the Misgav regional campus.
The path is intended for a wide variety of target populations. Today bicyclists can travel the entire route, although it should be noted that portions of the route require a certain level of riding technique and skill. However, these same sections can also be crossed on foot with bicycles in hand. Other portions are suitable for riding & walking by the entire family ages 6-80.
