Milah Tovah - The Good Word

Milah Tovah is an acronym that plays on the Hebrew expression for "a good word" and uses the first letters of the Hebrew words for teachers, parents and students, the three main participants of this innovative Jewish Agency program being implemented in the Central Galilee.

"The main goals of the program," says Marc Berke of the Detroit Young Adult Division, "are to enhance the Ethiopian parent-child relationship in a creative educational framework and to raise the Hebrew language level of the Ethiopian parents, empowering them to get more involved in their children's education and to participate in community and school activities."

The outcome of the program will be measured by improvement in the Hebrew levels of the parents and an increase in their involvement in the educational activities of their children, both at home and at school.
