200,000 Shekels were collected by children of the Jewish education net in Boston, and were forwarded via Haifa-Boston Partnership for the renovation of Gan Ha'Shalom - a playground situated on Ha'Shomer St. in Hadar (next to Talpiot market).
Heads of the Jewish comminity in Boston, delegates of the Haifa-Boston Partnership and children from the area attended the playground's inauguration ceremony, which took place last week.
The playground is located at a derelict area, where a mixed population of common men, orthodox Jews, Ethiopian immigrants, Arabs and SLA families reside, a community with a large percentage of children.
Children from Boston schools who visited Haifa last November, wished to be partners in thinking-out and financing the renovation of Gan Ha'Shalom, set in a mixed neighborhood, hoping that the local children will be able to do better in a more enjoyable surroundings. The 200-thousand Shekels donation forwarded by the Haifa-Boston Partnership was used to purchase new equipment and innovative accessories, suitable for children of all ages.
