The Technion is providing an enrichment program in mathematics, English and computer skill to 40 young new immigrants from Ethiopia who are living in Haifa. The kids were selected according their potential and the program will prepare them to both improve school results immediately and prepare for a science oriented higher education in the future.

A parallel program which will include more then 60 Ethiopian kids will be opened this year in the national science museum in Haifa in cooperation with the Haifa municipality and others.

Both programs were initiated by the Haifa Boston connection sub committee for the absorption of new immigrants from Ethiopia, headed by Dr. Sharona Maital.
