Community Shaliach
|

The local community Shlichut is usually located at the local or regional Jewish Federation, or Jewish community center. This is the most likely place for the Shaliach to meet community representatives and leaders. The goal of this Shlichut is to strengthen the unique and multi faceted significance of Israel in the community and connect the next generation of the Jewish people to its people and homeland. The Shaliach works with the various community bodies and organizations, namely: synagogue, day schools, Sunday schools, community centers and youth and student organizations. The day-to day work varied and various bodies necessitates excellent inter-personal skills and ability to convey messages at different levels and using different presentation formats.
Shlichut Requirements: Ages 30-45, vast experience in the field of informal education, particularly working with various age groups, vast experience working with the community, with management expertise, experience initiating, managing and leading education and similar projects, rich Jewish-Israel knowledge, fluent in the language of the country of assignment.
Period of Shlichut: Two years, with an option for a one-year extension.
