Gael Grunewald was born in France, studied at the "Etz-Haim" high-school Yeshiva in Switzerland, and made Aliya in 1980.

After making Aliya, he studied at the Beit-El Yeshiva, then served in a combat unit of the IDF.

A graduate of Machon Lev – Jerusalem College of Technology, he has a computer engineering degree and a science teaching diploma.

Mr. Grunewald managed the Jewish Agency institution for Madrichim, and served as the Jewish Agency representative and head Shaliach of Bnei Akiva in Europe. He served as the director of human resource department of the World Bnei Akiva movement.

Today, he is the General Manager of World Bnei Akiva, and was the chairman of the world movements' council. He serves as a Committee Member since October 2001.
